Follow the procedure below to get this information out of Azure.
- Login to the Azure portal at https://portal.azure.com.
- In the search bar, enter "Azure Active Directory" and select the Azure Active Directory widget from the results.
- Copy the Tenant ID and save it in a text file from which it will be eventually copied into Commander.
- Click Enterprise applications in the navigation menu and then click New application in the main pane.
- Click Create your own application. A new panel opens where you can enter the name of your application. Provide a meaningful name and click Create.
- You are brought to the Overview page for the application you just created. Copy the Application ID and save it in a text file from which it will be eventually copied into Commander.
- Navigate back to the Azure Active Directory widget, and select App registrations from the menu.
- Choose All applications and filter the list for the application you created in the previous steps. Click the application name.
- On the overview page, you'll see your Tenant and Application IDs. Confirm these match your saved values.
- From the navigation menu, choose Certificates & Secrets. Click New client secret.
- In the Add a client secret dialog, enter a meaningful name in the Description field, and choose when the secret expires. Click Add.
- Snow recommends using a 12 month expiry. When the secret expires, a new secret will have to be generated and the information updated on the Cloud Account in Commander.
- Copy the secret's Value and save it in a text file from which it will be eventually copied into Commander. In Commander, this value is referred to as the API Key.
- In the search bar, enter "Subscriptions" and select the Subscriptions widget from the results.
- Select the subscription you want to add to Commander from the list. Its Overview page opens. Copy the Subscription ID and save it in a text file from which it will be eventually copied into Commander.
- Click Access Control (IAM) on the navigation menu. Click Add > Add role assignment.
- Select the Reader role and click Next.
- Click Select members. Search for your app and select it.
- Click Review+ assign.
