  1. The FlexNet server fails to correctly count the number of occupied licenses

    Hi Experts

This appears to be a license management issue in FlexNet when handling our Codebeamer license file — the FlexNet dashboard is unable to correctly display the number of occupied licenses.

We are able to consistently reproduce this issue on our side. To do so, simply configure two Codebeamer servers to connect to the same License server. Please refer to the related screenshots below:

    1758597065325

As you can see, there are 7 users logged into the two Codebeamer servers, but the license server counts only 4 licenses as occupied.

  2. We need to know where our revenera usage intelligence data is hosted

We have 3 products that utilize the revenera usage intelligence product and we need to identify were our revenera data is currently hosted for security and compliance reasons. The knowledge base suggested that it is hosted by 3rd parties in America and Europe, however that is a little vague and not specific for our data.

  3. When do Unique Installations drop from the data

We do send out a high volume of Trial Licenses, which are only good for 15 days.  This causes us to have a very high number of unique installations.  When do unique installs drop out of the data tracked in the Usage Intelligence product?

    Question with a best answer.

    Best Answer

The quota limit is based on installations which were active (i.e. synced) within a particular month. The quotas are then reset at 00:00 UTC on the first day of every month.

  4. Reachout enhancements

    1. In raw event data the 'Type' of 'rm' indicates a reachout message was delivered. It would be helpful to know which campaign. That could be populated in 'Data'.

    2. We use raw event data to do advanced segmentation of clients, to whom we would then like to reach out. But currently we can only manually add 200 client id's in a single campaign. I'd like to be able to either upload a text file that could have 1000s of client id's to the campaign; or have the ability to do segmentation within the platform (using an uploaded list) and send the campaign to that segment; or something that could do similar using API.

    Question with a best answer.

    Best Answer

    Hi @umphlettTSC  ,

‘rm' is manual reachout delivered (’ra' is auto reachout delivered), we do indicate the campaign which was delivered in 'Data' – number displayed at start in that field indicates the campaign ID.

The option to upload client IDs from a file while creating a campaign is present, the limit allowed is 300, refer attached screenshot.

Please let us know if you face any difficulty in points mentioned above.

Ability to upload a text file that has more than 300 client Ids and the segmentation part can be considered as an enhancement.

We will get back with more details regarding this soon.

    Thank you,

  5. Current day data

    Hi,

the downloadable archive data is available monthly or daily. Is possible to get the archive data every 2 hours?

    For example now I have:

    Hi @@Inventis1mon

Currently Usage Intelligence does not support distinct archive files for every 2 hours.

The current day archive has recent events at the time it is downloaded and it can be downloaded multiple times in desired frequency till the end of the day.

  3. Opt-out and server calls

According to the opt-out mechanism documentation: https://docs.revenera.com/ui560/cpp_windows/Content/helplibrary/Opt_Out_Mechanism.htm , "The ruiOptOut() function Instructs the SDK to send a message to the server to indicate that this user is opting-out (if not already sent in previous sessions) and disables all further functionality and communication with the server."

If I understand this correctly, we can still make API calls (such as ruiSetCustomProperty or ruiTrackEvent) but none of these will result in any of that data being sent to the server, right?

By "communication with the server", I presume this means the URL given in ruiCreateConfig will not be called: https://docs.revenera.com/ui560/cpp_windows/Content/helplibrary/Initializing_the_Configuration.htm?Highlight=ruiCreateConfig (see "serverURL (const char*)").

The reason I ask is that one of our users of our software is reporting that they are still seeing calls being made to that "serverURL". It is my understanding that this should not happen. Can you please let me know if this is not necessarily true and whether there is something we should be doing differently in the opt-out case.

  4. Behavior of Usage Intelligence with different screen setups

In the Raw Data the Monitor Count, Resolution - Horizontal, Resolution - Vertical and Screen Pixels per Inch are reported.

Upon inspecting the data i have several questions:

    1.  What is the expected behavior in a multi-screen setup, especially if the screens are different sizes?
      1. Sometimes the reported number of screens does not seem to match the resolution, e.g. I have clients with 1920x1080 resolution and one screen, but then there are clients with the same resolution but two reported screens.
      2. What is to be expected from the Screen Pixels per Inch on devices with different values?
    2. How dose Usage Intelligence handle scaling? I got some really exotic resolution (e.g. 1410x703) and my best guess is, that this is due to a scaled monitor, could you clarify this?
    3. Some graphics cards allow you to combine multiple monitors into one large screen, and I believe this was a feature on Win 11 as well. How does Usage Intelligence report the resolution and number of monitors in this case?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Paul März
