When deploying a service, you might encounter the error message No suitable deployment destination is currently available. This indicates that one or more service components (such as storage or network) cannot be mapped to the selected destination. This guide explains how to diagnose and fix this issue.
-
Navigate to Configuration > Self-service > Catalog.
- Click Edit on the service that failed to deploy.
-
Click the Component Blueprint and select the Resources tab.
- Take note of required settings, including storage tier and network configuration.
- Take note of required settings, including storage tier and network configuration.
-
Go to Self-service > Provisioning and choose to View destinations by: Organizations and Users.
-
Compare the service requirements against destinations available for the organization whose users encountered the failure:
- Ensure matching storage tiers and network options exist for the destination assigned to that organization.
- If mismatches exist, update the catalog service or adjust available resources accordingly.
-
If the cause is not clear from this comparison, enable debug logging by adding:
<Logger level="DEBUG" name="servicedeployments"/> -
Retry the service deployment, then generate a diagnostics package from Commander and submit it to Flexera Support, including the failure timestamp for detailed review.
Outcome
Following these steps ensures proper alignment between service requirements and deployment destinations, or provides diagnostic data for support to resolve underlying placement issues.
