On the Oracle Products Overview page in Snow Atlas and Snow License Manager, two columns are displayed: Total and Last 4 weeks.

 This article explains the purpose of the Last 4 weeks column, its calculation logic, and why its values differ from the Total column.

The Last 4 weeks column shows net changes that occurred in the last 28 days for metrics such as:

• Databases

• Major database versions

• Management Packs Agreed

• Options used

• Servers

• Unique database user IDs

• Virtualization methods

This is not cumulative but reflects recent activity.

How it is calculated

The value represents additions minus removals during the last 28 days. For example:

If 10 items are added and 3 removed, the column displays 7.

Interpreting Total vs Last 4 weeks

Total column:

• Current snapshot of what exists now.
• Displays the current overall count for each metric as it exists now.

Last 4 weeks column:

• Net changes (adds minus removals) in the last 28 days.

• Displays the net change, calculated as additions minus removals, that occurred during the past 28 days for that metric.

Why do these numbers differ?
Total represents the current snapshot of what exists now.

• For Databases, the system currently detects 389 databases.
• For Servers, there are 103 servers detected.

Last 4 weeks represents recent activity.

• For Databases, the net change is +375, meaning 375 additions minus removals occurred within the last 28 days, even though the total is now 389. This happens when many databases are added and some removed during the same period.
• For Servers, the net change is +359, which reflects database-server relationship changes rather than the count of unique servers.

Scenario: Adding one server hosting four databases

Impact on the Databases Row

Adding four databases increases the Databases row by +4 in the Last 4 weeks column.

If the previous total was 7, it becomes 11 in the Total column.

Impact on the Servers Row

The system tracks database-server relationships rather than simply counting servers.

Each database on the new server creates a relationship:

• Database 1 - Server A

• Database 2 - Server A

• Database 3 - Server A

• Database 4 - Server A

This results in four logged relationship changes. The Servers row shows +4 in the Last Four weeks column, despite one physical served being added.

If the previous total was 3, it becomes 7 in the Total column.

Why numbers can appear inflated

This design results in four change records being created whenever a single server hosting four databases is added, with each record representing one database-server pair.

As a result, the Last 4 weeks value may show higher numbers than the number of unique servers added.
