The following article discusses how to display some text in the progress bar when a custom action is running during the install of the application.


Discussion

Some text can be displayed in the progress bar when the custom action is running by adding an entry in the ActionText table.
Under the Installation Designer tab -> Additional Tools -> Direct Editor -> Tables -> ActionText -> Add an entry.
The Action field column should be the custom action name and the Description will be the text to display in the progress bar when that custom action is running.
Note that this only applies to Deferred custom actions. Therefore, action text is only displayed for actions that are sequenced between the Installinitialize and InstallFinalize actions.
