Synopsis

Trialware protection was added to the products listed above. Therefore, when you launch one of these products, a trialware run-time dialog opens before the product starts. This occurs only if you have not yet activated the product. The trialware run-time dialogs enable you to activate the product or simply evaluate it for a predetermined number of days. After the predetermined number of days, you can no longer start the product without first activating it.

If you install any of these products on a tablet PC that has Microsoft Tablet PC Input Panel, you may encounter some issues when you try to evaluate or activate. This article explains how to avoid those issues in some cases.

Discussion

If you want to evaluate or activate one of the aforementioned products on a tablet PC, you may need to first exit Microsoft Tablet PC Input Panel (tabtip.exe). You can do this by ending the tabtip.exe process through the Task Manager. This has resolved the issue in some cases.

Tablet PC Input Panel is a tool that converts handwriting to text dynamically. If the tabtip.exe process is running when the Flexera Software trialware run-time dialogs are displayed on your tablet PC, the trialware run-time dialogs may stop responding, and you may not be able to activate the product. In addition, you may not be able to launch the trialware version of the product to evaluate it.

Once you have activated your trialware, you may no longer need to stop the tabtip.exe process before launching the product.
