A new property has been added to the core.properties file for FlexNet Code Insight 6.12.3 to allow greater control of the length of time a stream will be allowed to gather information from SCM connections when performing a Project Copy. This property was added as customers with large amounts of information being retrieved from SCM connections could not retrieve all of the necessary information when attempting to perform a Project Copy within the FlexNet Code Insight UI. The default length of time a stream was allowed was 3 seconds in versions 6.12.2 and earlier, testing has shown that this was not sufficient when attempting to gather over 500 Clearcase Views and VOB's. The new property will allow customers to increase the stream time to a maximum of 5 seconds. This value should not be exceeded as this can cause system instability. Customers wishing to use the new feature should be aware that increasing the value from 3 to 5 seconds will result in an additional 2 second delay when performing the Project Copy.

The new property will be disabled and not shown in the core.properties file by default however it can be enabled using the following instructions:

Shut down tomcat
Open the core.properties file, located at '<Install dir>/config/core/core.properties', in a text editor
Add the following line to the end of the file:

copy.project.delay.seconds = 5

Save and close the file
Restart tomcat

Once enabled, this property will adjust the stream time for all SCM connections. This property has been added as a resolution to bug reference SCA-8007. Further information on the bug can be found in the Release Notes for FlexNet Code Insight 6.12.3.

PLEASE NOTE: These settings cannot be used on any version earlier than 6.12.3
