This article helps us on how to create a .pfx file from a .pvk file and .spc file, so that password is not prompted for nightly builds
Discussion
1. Please download "pvkimprt.exe" Microsoft Web site (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=F9992C94-B129-46BC-B240-414BDFF679A7&displaylang=EN).
2. Install "pvkimprt.exe".
3. Now in command prompt type as below
PVKIMPRT "C:\example directory\mycertificate.SPC" "c:\privatekey\mycertificate.PVK"
And press Enter key
4. 'Enter Private Key Password' dialog will be displayed, type in your password
Click Ok
5. 'Certificate Import Wizard' will be displayed, click Next until Finish button is displayed.
6. Click Finish, 'Import was Successful' will be displayed.
7. Now, launch IE and go to Tools > Internet Options > Content tab
8. Click 'Certificates..'
9. In Certificates dialog, select Personal tab and select the newly created certificate.
10. Now, click Export button to launch 'Certificate Export Wizard'
11. Click Next and select 'Yes, Export the private key' radio button
12. Click Next and 'Include all certificates in the certification path if possible' check box
13. Click Next and provide the password.
14. Click Next and browse for the location for 'File to Export' and provide a name of the file aswell.
eg: C:\DigitalSign\signedfile.PFX
Use the above 'signedfile.PFX' in your project as below
1. Launch IS 2009/2010 and create a project.
2. Add required files to Files and Folders view
3. Navigate to Releases view and create as below
New Product Configuration
Release1
4. Select Release 1 node > Signing tab
5. Set the following fields as below:
Digital certificate file (SPC or PFX): C:\DigitalSign\signedfile.PFX
Private Key files (PVK): BLANK
Certificate password: *****
6. Save and Build the project.
7. Install the setup,Here setup will won?t prompt for password.
