Summary

Versions of FlexNet Manager Suite prior to FlexNet Manager Suite 2021 R1 did not support Oracle Fusion Middleware (OracleFMW) recognition. If you upgrade FlexNet Manager Suite from a previous version that doesn’t support OracleFMW recognition to FlexNet Manager Suite 2021 R1 or later, the InventorySettings.xml file, which manages OracleFMW recognition, will not correctly update the OracleFMW rules on the FlexNet agent. Because of this, until a new InventorySettings.xml revision is released via an Application Recognition Library (ARL) update, you won’t be able to utilize the OracleFMW recognition feature.

Reproduction

1. Start with a FlexNet Manager Suite environment prior to FlexNet Manager Suite 2021 R1. Ensure that the ARL is updated so you have the latest InventorySettings.xml revision.
2. Deploy a FlexNet agent to at least one system that contains an Oracle Fusion Middleware installation.
3. Upgrade FlexNet Manager Suite to FlexNet Manager Suite 2021 R1 or later and enable the new OracleFMW evidence scan.
4. You will observe that the FlexNet Manager Suite agent will not intake OracleFMW evidence despite the feature being enabled.

Workaround

There is currently no workaround for this issue. It will be resolved when the ARL update that contains a revision of the InventorySettings.xml file is released.
