Summary

Synopsis

In older versions of InstallShield, the Setup Initialization dialog was smaller and did not have a bitmap. However, the new Setup Initialization dialog is larger and displays a bitmap. This article provides a way to remove the bitmap that is displayed by the Setup Initialization dialog. These changes cause a smaller Setup Initialization dialog without a bitmap to be displayed.

Discussion

To apply this setting to one project follow these steps:

1. Select the Releases view.

2. Set the Small initialization dialog property to a value of Yes for your particular release.

To apply this setting automatically to all projects created, follow these steps:

1. Find the Setup.ini file located in product's Support folder in <Product Path>\Support.

2. Add the following in the [Startup] section of the setup.ini file:

   UI=1000

3. After modifying the file, rebuild your release. Every release you build uses the Setup.ini in the Support folder. If this is not what you want, revise Setup.ini to its original value.
