On the whole, VBScripts are not recommended due changing contexts often preventing their proper functionality and their deceptively easy use hides their primary weakness; the difficulty troubleshooting them. Because of this, the strongly critical caution below against VBScript custom actions from Microsoft's own developers should be taken into account.

The following sample demonstrates how to change the MSI Property MYCUSTOMPATH via VBScript:
