In Windows, the Source Path storage (.properties) file should be located at the following directory path:
%USERPROFILE%\InstallAnywhere\<InstallAnywhere_Version>\<InstallAnywhere_Edition>\preferences\com.zerog.ia.PathManager.properties
where <InstallAnywhere_Edition> should either be Standard or Enterprise (now renamed to Professional or Premier, respectively), depending on the InstallAnywhere Edition.
<InstallAnywhere_Version> should have one of the following values depending on the InstallAnywhere version.
| InstallAnywhere Version | InstallAnywhere Name | <InstallAnywhere Version> Value |
| 8 | InstallAnywhere 8 | 80 |
| 9 | InstallAnywhere 2008 | 90 |
| 9.5 | InstallAnywhere 2008 VP1 | 95 |
| 10 | InstallAnywhere 2009 | 100 |
| 11 | InstallAnywhere 2010 | 110 |
| 11.5 | InstallAnywhere 2010 SP1 | 115 |
| 12 | InstallAnywhere 2011, 2011 SP1, 2011 SP2 | 120 |
| 12.5 | InstallAnywhere 2011 SP3, 2011 SP4 | 125 |
| 14 | InstallAnywhere 2012 | 140 |
| 15 | InstallAnywhere 2013 | 150 |
| 16 | InstallAnywhere 2014 | 160 |
| 16.5 | InstallAnywhere 2014 SP1 | 165 |
| 17 | InstallAnywhere 2015 | 170 |
| 18 | InstallAnywhere 2017 | 180 |
| 19 | InstallAnywhere 2018 | 190 |
For example, for InstallAnywhere 2017 Premier Edition, the directory path to the source path storage file should be as follows:
%USERPROFILE%\InstallAnywhere\180\Premier\preferences\com.zerog.ia.PathManager.properties
Note: The InstallAnywhere directory is a hidden directory, by default.
On Linux, the storage path (.properties) file should be located in the home directory of the user who is logged into the system.
Note: You will need to enable the option to display hidden files.
The Source Paths dialog allows developers to enter relative paths for installer projects. The path contained by the Source Path, itself, must be explicit.
To use relative source paths, go to the Source Paths tab under, the Edit > Preferences menu option. Check the "Enable Source Paths" checkbox.
To add a relative source path:
To use relative source paths, go to the Source Paths tab under, the Edit > Preferences menu option. Check the "Enable Source Paths" checkbox.
To add a relative source path:
1. Click the Add button.
2. In the text box below the Access Path Name label, enter the access path name. For example, RESOURCE.
3. In the text box below the folder label, enter the source path. For example, C:\Resources.
4. In this case, the setup author could use the $RESOURCE$ syntax in the project file instead of C:\Resources. The $RESOURCE$ source path should resolve to C:\Resources. This functionality should allow the developer to change one source if the source path needs to be changed, instead of changing the same path in numerous places throughout the project.
