Introduction

       This Knowledge base is applicable to user who are using installshield 2019 or any older version, On launching installshield we will see a pop message box,

"The server response was signed by a certificate which is no longer valid. Would you like to temporarily trust it anyway?" (Not recommended).

The same error is observed , when we select check for update option under tools section.

Instructions

We can disable this pop by following below steps.

1. Launch Installshield 2019 or any older version installed.
2. Go to Tools Menu -> Options, select “Updates” tab.
3. Select updates tab
4. And Select “Never” for “Check for software updates” (Refer screenshot)
5. Close all instance of InstallShield IDE.
6. Open a cmd in administrator mode
7. Change directory to “C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\Connect\11”
8. Execute agent.exe /unregserver
9. Kill agent.exe through task manger if it is running
10. Reopen InstallShield IDE.

More Information

From Installshield 2020 onwards we are not using a FNC server for updates, so this issue is observed when you have older version is installed along with newer version or when you are using a older version of installshield Installshield 2019 or below.
