Symptoms

While attempting to launch InstallAnywhere the following error occurs: This copy of InstallAnywhere could not be registered using the node locked licensing file specified. Please check if the license file specified at <PATH TO LICENSE.LIC> is a valid license file for this node.

Cause

The license.lic file was not found in the expected location.

Resolution

  1. Log into the Product and License Center.
  2. From the Entitlements list, click the Entitlement History hyperlink.
  3. Locate the applicable InstallAnywhere product serial number from the Serial Number/Order Number list.
  4. Click the View License icon.
  5. Select the checkbox for the applicable InstallAnywhere product edition and then click the View button.
  6. Click the Save All button and then save the file to a location accessible to the machine on which you are registering this license.
