Unable to create workspace following upgrade to FlexNet Code Insight 6.11.3

Summary

This article discusses an issue with crating workspaces following an upgrade from FlexNet Code Insight 6.6.2 to FlexNet Code Insight 6.11.3

Symptoms

Following an upgrade from FlexNet Code Insight 6.6.2 to 6.11.3 users are unable to create workspaces.

When attempting to create a workspace from UI, it throws com.palamida.workspace.WorkspaceException.

Upon checking the CorporateWS folder on the scan server, a folder is created with same name as the new workspace name entered through the UI but with WRONG timestamp. For all folders (corresponding to new workspace created through the UI) the timestamp remains fixed at the time of the upgrade

Cause

The cause of this issue is a conflict in CorporateWS/.templates directory between 6.6.2 and 6.11.3 which prevents the creation of new workspaces.

Resolution

This issue can be resolved using the following instructions:

1. Shut down tomcat
2. Back up the .templates directory in another location
3. Delete the .templates directory
4. Start tomcat on 6.11.3
5. Retry the creation of workspaces
