Discussion
To upload your files to the InstallShield FTP Server, follow these steps:
- Open an MS-DOS box from the Start menu. You will see something like this:

C:\ - Connect to the InstallShield FTP site by typing the following and pressing Enter:
ftp schftp.flexerasoftware.com
The following should appear:

Type the User ID supplied by Flexera Software Technical Support and press Enter.

The following should appear:
331 Password required
Password: - Type the Password supplied by Flexera Software Technical Support and press Enter.
The following should appear:
230-user logged in

230-Welcome to the InstallShield FTP Server
230 user logged in
ftp> - Change to the Incoming folder by typing the following and pressing Enter:
cd incoming
The following should appear:
250 CWD command successful.
ftp> - Change to binary mode by typing the following and pressing Enter:
bin
The following should appear:
200 Type set to IMAGE.
ftp> - Upload your file to the server by typing the "put" command, followed by the path and filename of the file you want to upload, and pressing Enter. Example:
put C:\Myfolder\Myfile.zip
The following should appear:
200 command successful
150 Opening BINARY data connection for Myfile.zip
226 transfer complete
ftp: 17404 bytes sent in 0.00Seconds 17404000.00Kbytes/sec.
ftp> - Log off the FTP site by typing the following and pressing Enter:
bye
- If your file is password-protected, post the password to your on-line service request.
Additional Information
When uploading a file, note that any files uploaded to this location can be viewed by other customers. However, no files can be downloaded from this folder for security purposes. Only InstallShield employees can download files from this FTP location, for all other customers it is only viewable. Therefore, although files are visible by other users, they cannot be downloaded as this is a secure site.
