Summary

Symptoms

When upgrading a project from a previous version of InstallShield, the following warning may occur:

"ISDEV : warning -6034: The string table entry [1] can not be added for the language [2] because the appropriate language pack has not been installed."

[1] is a placeholder that contains the string table ID for that particular entry, while [2] contains the specific language name referenced by the project.

Cause

This warning occurs if languages included in the project are not available in the currently installed version of InstallShield. This would happen if no InstallShield Language Packs were installed with the newer version of InstallShield. For example, if the project includes support for English, German, and French, but the new version of InstallShield was installed with the only the base language of English, the -6034 warning will be raised for each string table entry that cannot be translated. This is due to the lack of multilingual support.

Resolution

This warning message notifies you that not all languages included in the original project are supported in the newly upgraded project. To correct this problem, make sure the necessary Language Packs are installed, so all languages included in the original project are supported in the converted project.
