Also, we have a question that is asking, I see that the use case is using a URL what happens if the user doesn't have an active internet connection? Can we filter on that and not send it out or should we use a non URL in the message?
So, let's tackle this in two parts right? So what happens if the user doesn't have an internet connection? So, as we explained earlier ReachOut is dependent on the usage analytics platform. So the way ReachOut actually works is that when the user calls home, when that client calls home to upload the usage data to the server, rather than the server replying yes okay fine a log file has been received. The server would first check all the ReachOut criteria to see whether this client matches the criteria and if there is a message that is pending for this user it would send it out. So unless that user has access, has web access, internet access to ReachOut to the Usage Intelligence server then obviously that sync will not happen if the user is offline. What that also means is that we cannot send a ReachOut message whilst the user is offline. So if the user is offline for a while and then they connect to the Internet and they sync with the server that is the point when they will receive the ReachOut message.
Now the second part of the question was can we filter on that and not send it or should we use a non URL in the message? I'm not sure about this question, but you have two methods of sending ReachOuts you have a method of using a URL that they would link to a website that you would create hosted on your own server. Or you can upload an image so maybe Dan, you can show the area in the message content. You have two options there you can create a banner or an image that you simply drag and drop and we will build the ReachOut campaign and build the page around that. So there are two ways, if you don't want to use URL you can use an image upload.
However in both of these cases obviously the user needs to have internet access before they can receive the message.
