What is the difference between the FlexNet Code Insight Compliance Library and the Electronic Update?

Answer

The physical CL drive provides information about the binary content of files, which is used during scanning for Exact Matches and Source Code Fingerprinting. Every new CL drive contains all historical data as well as new data.

The Electronic Update provides relational data to Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL server databases. It does not update the contents of the CL drive. The relational data includes components (along with associated versions and license-mappings), vulnerabilities, AutoExpert rules (the combination of MID-Rules and Auto-WriteUp), and license detection data.
