Why does cancelling a task take a long time in FlexNet Code Insight?Discussion
Once the cancel active task button has been clicked, the task will fail. This does not mean that the task will immediately be removed from the SchedulerDriver as doing this could cause issues with any previously scanned data. When cancelling the scan process it is important to remember that we cannot just drop a task at whatever point the scan is currently processing. Doing this may result in redundant or corrupted data throughout the system which would compromise the quality of future scans.
Once the 'Cancel Active Task' button is clicked, the system must safely remove all data associated with the scanned files that have already been processed and must then start the process of removing the task from the scheduler. This is the reason that you can sometimes experience a delay when cancelling a scan.
