A. The Specified File is Not in the Correct Location

This can occur when moving a setup from one machine to another and not copying all the files, or the file was moved or deleted.

Look in the path specified in the error message and make sure the file exists where the setup expects it to be. If the file is not in the correct location, move it to the location specified.

B. Insufficient Permissions to Access the Location Where this File Resides

The location where this file resides may not be accessible with your level of system privileges. Contact your system administrator regarding acquiring greater privileges.

If burning the built setup to a CD-ROM, the CD-ROM burning software may rename the CAB files depending on your burn settings. If these files are renamed during the burning process, the setup is no longer able to locate them.

Check your CD-ROM burning software and make sure it is not configured to rename or modify the names of files being burned to the CD. These options vary depending on the CD burning software used. For example, some have a setting that allows for short or long file-name creation and selecting this option may rename the files accordingly.

If the setup is compressed and is extremely large, it may require additional disk space than what is currently available on the target machine. For example, if a setup was 200 MB compressed, it is safe to estimate that at least 500 MB (2.5 times the compressed size) should be free on the target machine to allow for decompression and installation of the setup. If less than 500 MB is available, the source files needed for the setup may not be copied over properly and, therefore, are not found. To resolve this behavior, reduce the overall size of your setup or make sure the target systems have sufficient free disk space available.

Elements of a setup that typically increase its overall size are merge modules, objects, and additional languages. Therefore, if you would like to reduce the overall size of your setup, these project elements may need to be removed for a significant size reduction.
