"unknown software object type" error on HPUX

Running a patch on HPUX I get a "unknown software object type message. the end of my log file... I am having a similar problem and every time I google the error all I get is this post - any luck yet?

It looks like InstallShield creates a folder called 'InstallShield' at the root level on HPUX installs which contains the install "engine".

I deleted that folder and its contents and then my install does not fail.

I think that either a previous install left an older "engine" out there or it may be that the UUID on my new install needs to be re-generated because it grew out of a previous install.
