Cause
- Removing the Suite Cache Path by mistake.
- Rerunning the Suite Installer without the correct command line does not automatically restage the missing payloads.
Resolution: Restage All Packages to a Local Folder
To restage all packages to a local folder:
- Open an elevated Command Prompt Run as administrator on the affected machine.
- Navigate to the folder containing the same version of
Setup.exeused to install the Suite. - Run the following command:
This command places the Suite’s staged payloads underSetup.exe /stage_only ISRootStagePath="C:\Stage\MyProduct"C:\Stage\MyProductwithout performing an install. - After staging completes, retry your repair or uninstall operation. The Suite should now find the required source files.
- (Optional) To capture a Suite debug log while validating the fix, run:

Validation
To verify that re-staging resolved the issue:
- Launch the Suite in Maintenance mode and select Repair, or invoke the product’s Uninstall from Apps & Features.
- Confirm the operation completes without prompts for original media and without source-not-found errors.
Prevention and Best Practices
- Do not delete the Suite cache folder, especially if the InstallShield user or end-user plans to repair, modify, or uninstall later.
- Choose an appropriate Cache Path during release authoring. When migrating older projects, review the Cache Path setting.
IMPORTANT: The /stage_only switch is the supported way to restage Suite payloads. Use /stage_only together with ISRootStagePath to control where the files are stored.
