When uploading a CSV file using the Contextual Data Service (CDS) importer, all columns may appear to upload successfully. However, newly added columns might not be recognized or imported correctly due to formatting or structural issues in the file.
If new columns are missing after upload, review the following common issues:
- Avoid spaces in attribute names
- Attribute names should not contain spaces.
- If spaces are present, they will be automatically converted to underscores during upload.
- Example:
Region NamebecomesRegion_Name.
- Attribute names are case-insensitive
- The CDS importer does not distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters in attribute names.
- Example:
Regionandregionare treated as the same field.
- Use the correct file format
- The file must be in CSV (comma-separated values) format.
- UTF-8 encoding is not supported. Use standard ASCII encoding instead to ensure compatibility.
