Debug mode in Snow Integration Manager (SIM) can be enabled to troubleshoot issues with the Adobe Creative Cloud connector. When enabled, the connector writes .snowdbg debug files to a specified folder instead of (or in addition to) sending data to Snow License Manager. This article explains how to configure the debug.config file and where to place it so SIM runs the connector in debug mode.
1. Configure the Adobe Creative Cloud connector
Set up the connector as described in the Adobe Creative Cloud Connector User Guide.
2. Open the debug.config file
Download the debug.config file attached to this article and open it in a text editor.
3. Update the <connector> element
- instance – Set this to the name of the Adobe Creative Cloud connector instance configured in SIM.
- output – Specify the folder where debug files should be saved, for example:
C:\Sim\Creative Cloud\Debug files
4. Update the <setting> element
- instance – Set this to the name of the connector instance created inside the Adobe Creative Cloud connector in SIM.
- mode – Choose a debug mode:
- Bypass – Saves data to a file and does not send it to Snow License Manager
- Clone – Saves data to a file and also sends it to Snow License Manager
- None – Sends data to Snow License Manager only
5. Copy debug.config to the SIM installation folder
Place the updated debug.config file in the Snow Integration Manager installation directory. This is the folder containing:SnowSoftware.ExternalDataProvider.Properties.exe
For example:C:\Program Files\Snow Software\Snow Integration Manager
6. Aggregate the connector
Run an aggregation of the Adobe Creative Cloud connector in SIM.
7. Review the debug output
If the aggregation succeeds, SIM creates a folder containing .snowdbg files in the output path specified earlier. These files can be opened with a text editor and contain the data that would otherwise be sent to Snow License Manager.
If no debug.config file is present, the connector runs normally and sends data to Snow License Manager.
Sending debug results to Flexera Support
Zip the entire debug output folder (for example: C:\Sim\Creative Cloud\Debug files) and attach it to your support case.
