Fix the "exceeded the number of VPC security groups allowed per instance" error

Title

You may see an error similar to the following when creating or importing an Elastigroup or Ocean cluster:

"SecurityGroupLimitExceeded: You have exceeded the number of VPC security groups allowed per instance."

Solution

This error occurs when you reach your AWS quota for the number of security groups allowed on a network interface. When this happens, Flexera products can’t create or launch the instances defined in your configuration.

To resolve, request a quota increase from AWS.

Outcome

Once AWS approves and applies the new quota, you can create or import your Elastigroup or cluster without the VPC security group limit error.
