You may see a Failed to import Fargate services error when you import Fargate services into the console. This happens when a service uses more than the maximum number of security groups allowed by AWS.
AWS limits each service to five security groups, so imports fail when any service exceeds that limit.
- Review the error shown in the console. You may see a message like:
- Failed to import Fargate services. Please verify IAM policy permissions and try again.
- Failed to import Fargate services. Please verify IAM policy permissions and try again.
- Check the system warning for more detail. You may see a message indicating that the service has too many security groups.
- Confirm that each Fargate service uses no more than five security groups.
- AWS allows up to five security groups per service.
- You can review this limit in the AWS documentation.
- Open the Ocean log for your group and look for the message about too many security groups.
- The log displays the same AWS validation error.
- The log displays the same AWS validation error.
- Reimport the services.
- Import one Fargate service at a time.
- Make sure the service has five or fewer security groups before trying again.
Your import succeeds once all services meet AWS’s security group limit.
