You may see an error similar to the following indicating that the virtual node group’s architecture doesn’t match the virtual node group template filter:
-
error: The Virtual Node Group’s architecture doesn’t match the Virtual Node Group Template filter.
This usually happens when you change the AMI in a custom virtual node group and the new AMI uses an architecture that isn’t compatible with the instance types defined in the default virtual node group.
- Create a new virtual node group that uses the updated AMI.
- In the console, go to Ocean > Cloud clusters and select your cluster.
- On the Virtual node groups tab, select Create VNG > Go to VNG template.
- Update the template to include more compatible instance types and select Save.
- Return to the new virtual node group and finish configuring it.
- Or update the default virtual node group to support more instance types.
- In the console, go to Ocean > Cloud clusters and select your cluster.
- On the Virtual node groups tab, select VNG template > Edit mode.
- Add additional instance types that support your AMI’s architecture and select Save.
The virtual node group can launch instances with the correct architecture, and the error no longer appears.
