Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

• Your OrgID and BeaconUID
• An API client, such as Postman

Steps

1. Generate Authentication Tokens

1. Generate a refresh token using the Flexera API.
2. Use the refresh token to generate an access token.

2. Send the API request

Send a POST request to the endpoint for your region.

NOTE:
• For UAT Beacon, remove the brackets in {-UAT}.
• For PROD Beacon, remove {-UAT} entirely.

3. Add the authorization header

Include the following header in your request: Authorization: Bearer <AccessToken>

4. Save the configuration file

After sending the request, the API returns the Beacon configuration file.

1. 1. Save the response as a .flxconfig file.
   2. Copy the file to the Beacon server.

5. Import the configuration into the Beacon

1. Open the Beacon UI.
2. Navigate to Beacon Configuration > Parent connection.
3. Under Configure inventory beacon connection, select Import configuration.
4. Choose the .flxconfig file you saved.
