A license may show up with the alert "License is Linked to an Application without Evidence" even when all linked applications appear to have evidence available and are all from the Application Recognition Library (ARL). Follow the steps below to identify and resolve this issue.
Identifying linked applications
To identify the applications linked to the license, including their source and evidence capability, use the following queries:
select * from softwarelicense where name like '%LicenseName%'
select Source, Extended, EvidenceCapability, * from Grid_ApplicationListModelByLicense(<SoftwareLicenseID>, NULL)
Resolving the issue
- Check for applications without evidence: Ensure that there is evidence assigned to any application linked to the license, whether directly or indirectly via upgrade/downgrade rights.
- Clear stale alerts: If all applications have evidence linked to them, the issue may be due to stale alerts. To clear these alerts:
- Remove the application from the license.
- Save the license.
- Re-add the application to the license.
- Save the license again.
By following these steps, you can resolve the "License is Linked to an Application without Evidence" alert and ensure all linked applications are properly accounted for.
