This article explains why three CI Class Mapping rules are shipped in a Disabled state in the Flexera One IT Visibility 1.6 scoped application for ServiceNow, and how you can turn them on when your data is ready.
Why the rules are disabled
Technopedia has no Hardware Category or Subcategory values for these device types because the equipment has not been encountered in customer data.
When Technopedia introduces suitable categories, the mappings will remain disabled until a future scoped app release explicitly activates them. In the meantime, you can manually enable them if needed.
Delivering disabled rules ensures forward compatibility: once Technopedia publishes the required categories, or your organization introduces matching hardware, you can update the two category fields and set the Enabled flag.

To enable an optional mapping:
- Open CI Class Mappings (
x_fls_flexeraone_ci_class_mapping) in your ServiceNow instance. - Filter for the class you plan to enable (e.g.,
cmdb_ci_ip_camera). - In the record:
a. Enter values for Hardware Category and Hardware Subcategory that exist in your Technopedia normalized dataset.
b. Set Enabled to True.
c. Save the record. - Verify that newly imported or updated records are mapped to the intended CMDB table.
