Snow Atlas includes a Private Application Catalogue that allows administrators to track and manage applications that are not available in, or are not planned to be added to, the Global Application Catalogue offered by the Data Intelligence Service (DIS).

Overview of the Private Application Catalogue

The Private Application Catalogue is available under Snow Atlas Settings > Private Application Catalogue.

Three views are available:

Applications

• Use this view to create new applications by selecting Add Application.
• After the application details are created, users are prompted to create rules to track the application in the Application Discovery tab.
• The Applications view also displays applications that were previously created in this manner.

Filters

• Use this view to review existing filters and create new filters.
• Use filters to review specific data rows of interest. Filters are refined using text patterns in Application Name, Manufacturer Name, Version Name, Executable Path, and Operating System Type.
• Filters can be helpful when adding rules to recognize applications from the Applications tab.

Custom data

The Custom data view contains two tabs for additional information associated with applications.

Manufacturers

In the Manufacturers grid, customers can add new vendors. This is not always required because existing manufacturers can be used when creating a new application.

Families

In the Families grid, customers can add application families. Adding an application family provides a versionless view of all editions and versions from one manufacturer.
