Resolve the “value contains a conflict between peers” error during Elastigroup import

Title

When you import an existing group into Flexera Elastigroup on AWS, the import can fail with a conflict error related to Spot configuration. This usually happens when the imported JSON includes incompatible or empty fields that cannot be processed together.

Removing the conflicting field allows the import to complete successfully.

Solution

Symptoms

You see an error similar to the following during group import:

“value” contains a conflict between exclusive peers [resourceRequirements, spot]

Cause

The imported Elastigroup JSON includes the resourceRequirements field with a null value. This field conflicts with the Spot configuration during import, which causes the validation to fail.

Solution

Open the Elastigroup configuration file

Open the JSON file used to import the Elastigroup.
Remove the conflicting field

Locate the resourceRequirements field and remove it entirely from the JSON configuration.
Reimport the group

Save the updated file and reimport the Elastigroup.

Outcome

After removing the resourceRequirements field, the Elastigroup import completes without errors and the group is created successfully.
