Summary
Conflict between IPv4 and IPv6 lmgrd when using automatic ports: (error code: -97,121).Synopsis
This article will explain how to overcome a conflict between IPv4 and IPv6 lmgrd when using automatic ports.Discussion
From the above figure, in scenario 1, the checkout will fail from a IPv6 client because the path is set to IPv4 address and the daemon is running on IPv4 interface. But the client that is requesting for checkout is IPv6 built with the same vendor daemon. Due to mismatch in the interface the client will receive an error as desire vendor daemon is down (error code: -97,121) this is because the IPv4 interface vendor daemon is not running.
Scenario 2, the checkout will be successful because the path is set to IPv6 address and the daemon is also running on the IPv6 interface. Hence the request will be served by that vendor daemon because of same interface.
Workaround
This is expected behaviour in Windows and the IPv6 address needs to be set in the license path for a successful checkout instead of IPv4 address.
