This article provides step-by-step instructions for renewing SSL certificates on Unix-based devices that have the FlexNet Inventory Agent installed. This process is applicable to environments using Flexera One ITAM or FlexNet Manager Suite.
NOTE: SSL certificates cannot be renewed centrally through Flexera One ITAM or FlexNet Manager Suite. The renewal must be performed manually on each individual Unix device.
Once you have obtained the updated SSL certificate for the beacon, follow these steps to apply it to the Unix device:
- Access the SSL directory
Open a terminal and navigate to the following directory:
/var/opt/managesoft/etc/ssl/
- Replace the certificate
Overwrite the existingcert.pemfile with the new certificate you received.
TIP: It is recommended to regularly monitor certificate expiration dates to prevent disruptions in secure communication between the agent and the beacon.
After completing the steps above, the Unix device will use the renewed SSL certificate for secure communication with the beacon.
