SaaS Private application catalog rule fails with “Invalid URL” error

Title

When you create a SaaS Private application catalog rule for Application Discovery, you must provide a valid URL as part of the rule definition. While adding the URL, you may encounter an “Invalid URL” error that prevents the rule from being saved.

This error typically occurs when the URL provided does not meet the required format. The most common issues are:

The URL does not include a scheme (http:// or https://)
The URL does not include a valid top-level domain (for example, .com, .co.uk, .io)

Solution

To view the rule, go to: Snow Atlas → Snow Atlas Settings → Private application catalog → SaaS → Add → Application discovery

Verify that the URL you enter includes:

A valid scheme, such as https://
A fully qualified domain name, including the top-level domain

After correcting the URL format, you should be able to generate and save the rule successfully.
