When you unlicense migrated servers in Cloud Migration, you may wonder what happens to the data that has already been collected. Common questions include:
- What impact does unlicensing have on existing affinity data?
- Will reports still show historical affinity data after unlicensing?
- Is there any risk of losing other data, such as database reports or server inventory?
- Retention of existing data
- Unlicensing servers does not delete or remove any previously collected data.
- All historical affinity data remains intact.
- Affinity data in reports
- Reports will continue to include historical affinity data even after the servers are unlicensed.
- No new data collection
- Once servers are unlicensed, the system stops collecting new data from them.
- You can still access past affinity metrics, but no new metrics will be recorded.
- No impact on other reporting
- Other reporting areas, such as Database Reports and Server Inventory, are not affected by unlicensing.
- No existing data will be lost in these areas.
