Why does the "Save As" option appears when downloading documents in SLM (Software License Management) and how it is controlled?
The "Save As" option you see when downloading documents from SLM is determined by your web browser's settings. Each web browser has its own set of preferences, including how it handles file downloads. In this case, the behaviour of the "Save As" option is controlled by the user’s browser.
However, it's important to note that users have the flexibility to customize this setting based on their preferences. This means you can change the download behaviour within your web browser if you wish to do so.
In certain situations, such as within corporate environments, the download behaviour may be controlled by user IT department. In such cases, IT policies or configurations might mandate a specific download behaviour for security or compliance reasons. If you find that you need to adjust the "Save As" option and it appears to be controlled by your IT department, it's advisable to reach out to your IT department. They should be able to assist you in aligning the download behaviour with your specific requirements or explaining any policies in place that affect it.
In summary, the presence of the "Save As" option during document downloads in SLM is primarily determined by the users web browser's settings, and you have the ability to customize this behaviour.
