When viewing in Snow License Manager, we can sometimes notice a difference in the total number of applications count in these three locations:
- Search For Applications page
- All Applications Report
- Snow API - http://localhost/api/customers/1/applications/?$inlinecount=allpages
- Snow License Manager 9.x
The dependency tables that could filter out data for the provided scenarios and found that there is a difference in queries that affect number of rows returned:
Search for applications shows applications (without select filter “Also include not installed/used” ) depends on records in:
- tblComputerApplications
- tblComputerApplicationUsers
All applications report shows applications with records in:
- tblComputerApplications
- tblComputerApplicationUsers
- tblLicense
Applications API Includes applications with records in:
- tblComputerApplications
- tblLicense
- tblLicenseOrgDistribution
- tblComplianceSummary
- tblApplicationInfo
A difference between Search For Applications and All Applications report can be caused by having a license for an unused application. However, you still can see that application in Search for applications if “Also include not installed/used” filter is selected.
The difference between API and other parts is more substantial but the greater number of applications is caused by tblApplicationInfo record.
Having record in tblApplicationInfo table means that the application was most likely edited by a user. Editing an application inserts new record to that table hence it is visible in API.
