Synopsis

When adding a custom text control to an existing dialog or a custom dialog, often times the %P place holder doesn't get populated at runtime with the product name. This article details how to create/change the text control so that the %P place holder dynamically populates the product name at runtime.

Discussion

The control identifier (ID) of the text control has to be in specific range for the place holder to work as expected.

1. In the 'Dialogs' view select the custom or existing dialog where the text control exists or will be added.
2. Select or add the text control and populate the 'Text' property with place holder and text you want to display.
3. Find the 'Control Identifier' property and without duplicating the control ID of an existing control in the dialog, assign the text control a number in the following range:
   
   700-725
   50-54
   202-203
