Discussion
The control identifier (ID) of the text control has to be in specific range for the place holder to work as expected.
-
In the 'Dialogs' view select the custom or existing dialog where the text control exists or will be added.
-
Select or add the text control and populate the 'Text' property with place holder and text you want to display.
-
Find the 'Control Identifier' property and without duplicating the control ID of an existing control in the dialog, assign the text control a number in the following range:
700-725
50-54
202-203
4. In the DLG_INIT section of your custom rul file you will need to call SdGeneralInit. The following sample code demonstrates this:
hwndDlg=CmdGetHwndDlg(szDlg);
SdGeneralInit(szDlg,hwndDlg,STYLE_NORMAL,szSdProduct);
(where szDlg is the name of the dialog as you specified in the first parameter to EzDefineDialog).
