When you install Snow Software® Commander®, the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) memory limit configured for the web server is 4096 megabytes. This configuration is typically suitable for Commander, and should not be changed unless requested by Snow Software technical support.
As with any action on a production system, Snow Software recommends taking a snapshot prior to making this change.
- Login to the Snow Software Commander application server as an administrator.
- Using Windows Explorer, launch to<INSTALL_DIRECTORY>\Embotics\Commander\tomcat\bin\vlmw.exe.
- Update the Maximum memory pool value.
- Click OK.
- Restart the Commander Windows service.
Note that these changes DO NOT get retained on upgrade. Snow is currently working on a solution that will allow for the settings to persist when Commander is upgraded. If you have made changes to these settings in the past but have since upgraded, please revisit the process until such time as Snow can provide a permanent configuration process.
