Summary
The License Compliance > Applications > Application Installation Details report may take a very long time to load and/or fail to load with red error bar displayed, particularly when the report is used in a way that results in large volumes of data being processed.
Symptoms
Various types of errors related to database timeout conditions may appear in the C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\Logging\WebUI\webui.log file on FlexNet Manager Suite On Premises Edition web servers. Some examples of possible errors appearing in the logging that may be symptomatic of this specific issue are:
[WARN 2020-03-02 13:52:46,262 28342573ms ken=b77a5c561934e089]] ] The table 'Report_op41_Reports_View_30_cec34697e6d740daa06ae621c029a059' could not be deleted and may become orphaned. [...] ClientConnectionId:e23501dd-bf4e-4454-8583-097a3aef5e3c' ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Lock request time out period exceeded.
And:
[ERROR 2020-08-13 11:22:54,291 82640457ms UnhandledErrors ] An unexpected error occurred (a41b74a6-4156-4cf3-a758-d1ee36fd56ab) Flexera.Web.Logic.Exceptions.ReportTimeoutException: The Timeout period for generating the report of 3600s was exceeded ---> System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Threading.Tasks.TaskCanceledException: A task was canceled.
Workaround
Consider applying filters to limit which publisher(s) and application(s) are covered by the report so that less data is returned.
