Container Image Inventory Tool (imgtrack) version 1.0.1 fails with error: "gzip: stdin: not in gzip format"
Description

Summary

The Container Image Inventory Tool imgtrack that is shipped with FlexNet Manager Suite 2022 R1 fails when it is executed. Output from the tool shows error details like the following:

imgtrack: checking ndtrack support for linuxx86_64
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child died with signal 13
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
imgtrack: ERROR: no ndtrack supporting linuxx86_64

Workaround

The imgtrack file contains a shell script with some embedded binary content. It can be modified using a command such as the following to stop this issue from occurring:

sed -i -e 's/tail +/tail -n +/g' -e 's/NR + 1/NR + 2/g' imgtrack
