RegSpyUI is a COM extraction utility available in InstallShield, located under the <InstallShield Programs File Folder>\Support folder.- Note: RegSpyUI is not an official InstallShield MSI Tool and is not officially supported by Flexera.
Discussion
RegSpyUI lets you take control of extracting COM Information from a particular file. In the case of exe files, it simply runs the exe file with the /RegServer parameter. If your application doesn't specifically handle this parameter, this will also capture other registry configuration that occurs before the application exits.The "Filter Registry Keys" option uses a file called Filters.xml to filter core system entries from your registry data. This tool can be used to troubleshoot issues with COM extraction by allowing you to verify if the correct data is extracted from the file. You can also export registry data to a .reg file and import it into InstallShield manually as another means of file registration.
