How to uninstall pre-requisites installed as part of the initial installation while uninstalling the main application

Synopsis

If additional programs were installed as prerequisites or as a part of the original install, you may want to automatically uninstall those programs as well during uninstallation of the main program.

Discussion

To uninstall a program, look for the value of UninstallString. This is a value in the registry under the following key location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\<GUID>

In this case <GUID> should be replaced with the product code of the program to be uninstalled. To get the value of UninstallString use the Installscript function RegDBGetKeyValueEx(). To execute the UninstallString command use the Installscript function LaunchApplication();
