A common reason why a device with an IBM processor value unit (PVU) license might not be consumed is that the host of the virtual machine (VM) is being ignored. If a VM's host is ignored, it will not consume any IBM PVU license points, even if the VM is an active device. This issue can be identified by checking the host.
Check the virtual machine host status
- Navigate to the menu on the left side of the screen and scroll down to find Inventory.
- Under Inventory, select All Inventory.
- Select the device you wish to check.
- Selecting your device will bring you to the General section of the Inventory Device Properties page. If the host of the VM is being ignored, the Status field will read Ignored.
