InstallShield Limited edition for Visual studio is included with Visual Studio 2010 and its later versions.

Supported Visual Studio Editions

InstallShield Limited edition for Visual Studio supports the following Visual Studio editions:

• Professional
• Premium
• Enterprise
• Ultimate

Note: Consider the following related to Visual Studio editions:

• The Visual Studio Express edition does not support integration with InstallShield Limited edition for Visual Studio.
• The Visual Studio Community Edition is not supported.

Installing and Activating InstallShield Limited Edition for Visual Studio

You may follow the below steps to install and activate the InstallShield Limited edition for Visual Studio:

1. Click the Download button above. If prompted, choose to save the file.

2. When the download completes, run the downloaded file to install the product. 

Please note, if Visual Studio is open during installation, it must be restarted after the installation completes.

3. Open Visual Studio and create an InstallShield Limited edition project:
   1. On the File menu, select New > Project. The New Project dialog box opens.
   2. In the Installed Templates box, expand Other Project Types > Setup and Deployment, and select InstallShield Limited Edition Project template.
   3. Choose Activate or Register for free copy of InstallShield and click Next.
   4. Enter your serial number, click Next, and then click Finish to begin your first InstallShield project.
