Hotfix Available for: ISDEV : fatal error -6213: Internal build error occurs from either an automated build process MSBuild or the Visual Studio IDECause

- Install Visual Studio and InstallShield 2015 on a clean machine
- Using Visual Studio: File > New > Project
- Under InstallShield Projects select Basic MSI project
- Under Organization > Setup Design: Add Feature and component
- Point to a dll built based on .Net Framework
- Build
Resolution
An InstallShield 2015 hotfix for this issue is attached.To apply the fix, follow the steps below. Note that for SAB installs the 2015 SAB folder should be used, whereas normal installs should use the 2015 folder:
- Based on product -
- make a backup copy of \Program Files (x86)\InstallShield\2015 {SAB}\System\ISWIScanners.dll.
- Extract ISWIScanners.dll from the attached zip file to the path
- make a backup copy of \Program Files (x86)\InstallShield\2015 {SAB}\System\ISWIScanners.dll.
- Rebuild your project using MSBuild or the Visual Studio IDE.
Additional Information
This hotfix should resolve the build error -6212, -6213, and -7325. This issue has been tracked under Master Issue IOJ-1733016. The fix will be incorporated into the next release of InstallShield.Was this helpful?
