Summary
When importing inventory from IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) or HCL BigFix Inventory, if a component has been configured to be exempted from requiring a license on any computer then the component will be exempted from requiring a license in FlexNet Manager Suite/Flexera One ITAM on all computers where it is installed instead of being exempted on only the computers where it is exempted in ILMT/BigFix Inventory.
The exemption reason shown for such an installation is “Covered by related product”.
Details
This issue is caused by a logic error in the “reader” procedures in adapters used to import data from ILMT/BigFix Inventory.
The issue affects the adapters used to import data from either SQL Server or DB2 databases.
Fix status
This issue has been fixed in the following FlexNet Manager Suite releases: 2022 R1.4 / Aug 2022 (Cloud), 2022 R2 (On Premises)
