Summary

FlexNet beacon versions 2021 R1 (15.0.0) and higher gather SAP inventory data in a format that inventory server versions 2019 R2 (14.0.0) and earlier are unable to process.

Details

FlexNet beacon versions 2021 R1 and higher include changes to gather SAP Digital Access data. FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R2 and earlier versions are not capable of processing this data.

Workaround

It is recommended to upgrade the FlexNet Manager Suite application server components (including the inventory server) to 2021 R1 or newer.

If this is not possible, copy the C:\Program Files (x86)\Flexera Software\FlexNet Manager Platform\DotNet\bin\SAPReader.exe file from your inventory server to C:\Program Files (x86)\Flexera Software\Inventory Beacon\DotNet\bin\SAPReader.exe on your beacon (adjusting the paths specified here as appropriate for your installation directories). This will downgrade the beacon component so that it does not gather SAP Digital Access data.

Be sure to take a copy of the original SAPReader.exe file on your beacon before replacing it in case you choose to revert the change.
